Hi my name is Rasmus Callerhorn and this is my second blog post here. My first blog post was about the differences between U.S. culture and Swedish culture, this time I am going to focus more on Swedish traditions and norms.

In Sweden we work hard and study a lot, but as the old saying goes, "work hard play hard". Fika is one of the most important part of the day and is vital for the Swedish folk. Fika is a time for everyone where most people drink coffee and there is a savory pastry to be enjoyed as well. This is a time for relaxation and socialization, but everything in moderation.

This is where the word lagom is emphasized, it means moderation. Living a life that could be called lagom is probably the best way to explain a Swedish person. In a funny way this is why the majority of Swedish people are very fit, cares about natural sustainability and are tall, we eat a lagom amount of vegetables.

If you are ever in Sweden, go for a fika and make sure that there is lagom amount of sweets.
Thank you for your attention.
