November Updates

Thanksgiving Break

1. Housing Agreements for Thanksgiving Break

If you will be staying on campus for ANY TIME between November 26th and December 1st, please complete the November Break Stay Application. The application is available at https://housing.maryvillecollege.edu and must be submitted by November 15th at 5 p.m. to avoid a late application fee.

While international students aren’t charged for staying over the break, submitting the application helps us keep track of who will be on campus and ensures their ID access remains active for their building during this period.

2. Meals

There will be no food services from November 27 - December 1 (opens for Dinner).  Please use the below form if you could use a shopping trip prior to break.

Visit the Scots' Supply Closet BH 319  before break to get supplies you might need.

  • Hours: Monday - Friday 12pm-5pm
  • Come get what you need.  We have free clothes, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine products, hairbrushes and more.
  • For more information contact: mccares@maryvillecollege.edu

3. Tell us where you will be during Thanksgiving Break - Complete this Form

This helps us reach you in case of emergency.  It also helps with immigration reporting.

Please note: A quick reminder about commitments you make as a student participating in our Global Connections Host Family program -

·       It is never appropriate for a student to ask their Global Connections host family for money, or to borrow their car, or stay with them overnight.

4. Thanksgiving Dinner - sometimes I get offers from MC families (not part of our host family program) to host students for Thanksgiving dinner.   Complete the question in the above form.
