Ramadan is a sacred time for fasting, prayer, and reflection for Muslims around the world. At Maryville College, we want to ensure that our students observing Ramadan have the resources and support they need. Here’s a quick guide to navigating Ramadan on campus.
Key Ramadan Dates
Start: Sunset on February 28, 2025
End: Sunset on March 30, 2025
Fasting Times:
Suhoor (pre-dawn meal): From 6:29 AM at the start and before 5:27 AM by the end of Ramadan
Iftar (breaking fast): Between 6:30 PM and 7:25 PM, depending on the date
Food & Dining Options
Metz has a Ramadan Meal ordering site where students may place an order by 3pm the day before, or order in advance for the whole period.
Grab-and-Go Suhoor: Pre-packaged breakfast meals are available through the above link.
Iftar Meal Swipes: Visit Pearson's before 8:00 PM or use meal equivalency at Isaac’s, open from 7 PM – 10 PM.
To-Go Meals: Request to-go boxes at Pearson’s to break your fast later.
Halal Options: While the campus kitchen is not fully Halal-certified, Halal burritos are available at the C-Store.
Pre-Order Meals: Order Suhoor and Iftar meals in advance through Metz by 3 PM the prior day.
Prayer & Reflection Spaces
International House (Room 305 & 301) International House will be open by 5 AM during Ramadan and open until 11 PM
Center for Campus Ministry (Upstairs & Downstairs - normal hours)
Nightly Prayers & Eid Celebrations: Stay tuned for details on campus events.
Academic & Community Support
Communicate early with professors about religious accommodations.
Seek guidance from the Center for Global Engagement or Campus Ministry.
