In January Maryville College hosted 22 wonderful students from Rosario, Argentina. These students brought enthusiasm for learning and life to our campus. These students not only studied English, but experience college life in the U.S., country music, ice skating and visit many tourist attractions in nearby cities like Atlanta and Washington, D.C. Though they were here only a short time, we were able to know them well. At Maryville relationships are formed quickly and can last a lifetime. My friends from Rosario: We miss you!
In addition to Argentina, students from Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Honduras have studied at Maryville College. We expect Venezuelan students to join us soon. We are so excited that Latin American students have chosen Maryville to study!
In March I will travel to Brazil to visit language schools, high schools, former Maryville College students and Education USA offices. I am so ready to go because of the wonderful Brazilians who have studied here in Tennessee over the year. Of course, I am making this trip because Maryville College is committed to attracting good students from Latin American countries.
