I'm starting to nest

So after a month's time, I'm finally starting to settle down and get into a rhythm. I know where all my classes are. I have my instinctually usual seats in said classes, and I even know all the back roads now to get to those classes when construction is in the way (and considering all the buildings that are part of the university here are obscurely placed AND this town is ALWAYS under the auspice of some sort of large construction project, those back roads are a handy trick.)

I'll admit it: I'm a homebody. I love an adventure, but much like that wayward hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, when I'm away from all that I know, and many unexpected things happen to me away from said home, I tend worry and brood. I know, that's exactly the opposite of what I should do in any given situation like this, and it goes against my usual advice of "run with the river;" but hey, I'm human, and I am learning a lot on this excursion. I'm loving life and freedom at the moment, my classes are interesting and challenging, and I really can't complain. It would seem that I have made nest to come back to; I can leave that nest at anytime, go adventure, and then come back. That suits me quite well. I really love that.

So in keeping with the homey/nesty motif of this blog post, and in light of the promise I made last time, I have pictures of my quaint Bavarian hamlet. First, here's the Marktplatz:

I live behind that pink building on the right behind Fountain Pope.

This is Fountain Pope. We're tight.

I suppose the next thing I should show off is where I take walks:

Yeah, that's a castle. (The Natural Museum is inside it. I have not had the chance to go yet.)
I found this on the ridge. It makes me happy.
This is my beautiful ridge. It is castle-adjacent, and it overlooks the city.

This is what my nest is made of: beautiful places that have now become familiar to me. I suppose that could serve as advice to someone looking for it. Yeah, build a nest. Go exploring from there. Take a lot of photos and eat plenty of gelato. That's what'd I do.

As far as pictures and advice goes, I'm spent for now. But stat tuned for next week's exciting blog installment!
