MOVE OUT REMINDER: If you have not applied for summer housing, you must move out of your room by ThursdayMay 5th

If you you have a flight that leaves later than May 5th (our advertised move out date), you need to ask residence life for an exemption and pay a $15/night fee to stay.  Please note: while the Residence Life Office is happy to help out, it is unlikely you will be able to stay later than Saturday or Sunday, and the answer may be different from hall to hall, floor to floor based on how quickly we need to turn over that room and staffing considerations.

NOTE: You will be eligible to move back in on Sunday, August 21, 2022

STORAGE: If you need to store items, please talk to the Director of Residence Life, Ms. Doniqua Chen (3rd floor Bartlett) to ask about the possibility of storing any items.

In general, the college does not provide storage space over the summer, but they are willing to consider the extenuating circumstances of international students.  Space will be limited, and if you have an option to store things with a friend off campus it is appreciated.

*Maryville College is not responsible for any items stored. Items must be picked up by the end of summer semester. Any items not picked up will be donated.
**International House CANNOT store items for you over the summer.

SAA Leadership Opportunity 2022-23

The Study Abroad Ambassador program builds a culture of travel on campus and promotes education abroad programs and international opportunities. Our mission is to bring the world to campus and bring the campus to the world.

What does this look like?  Hosting cultural events like the Torta della Nonna cooking class or bringing African drummers to campus.  Celebrating cultures through campfire stories and travel tales.  But also marketing international experiences through social media, live events, and print publications.

SAA allows international students and study abroad students a place to continue their learning, reflect on their experience, build skills, and share their experiences from abroad.

Want to study abroad? SAA is also a place for students interested in study abroad to begin learning about the study abroad process and better inform themselves about the opportunities they may have abroad. The team empowers students to build on their global experience, and helps their fellow students develop an international scope within their academic experience.

How does becoming a leader of Study Abroad Ambassadors help you?

It can be a great way to meet people, explore cool opportunities and have fun! But also, it helps develop competencies that employers are looking for when you graduate:

  • Build Oral/Written Communications skills while planning outreach events and marketing campaigns to make education abroad more accessible for all students.
  • Build Digital Technology skills by leveraging your social media and publishing skills (Canva anyone?) to accomplish our goals.

  • Build Teamwork/Collaboration skills by engaging with students representing diverse cultures, races, ages, genders, religions, lifestyles, and viewpoints.
  • Develop Professionalism/Work Ethic.  Leaders learn to demonstrate personal accountability and effective work habits, e.g., punctuality, working productively with others, and time workload management.
