Welcome Back International Scots 2024

Travel Guidance

Sunday, August 18

This move in date and other important Residence Life dates can be found at https://www.maryvillecollege.edu/campus-life/reslife/dates/

Wondering when you can move back to campus?  You should have information from Residence Life on this! Email residence.life@maryvillecollege.edu if you have questions about times!

[The above website also talks about breaks and move out dates!]

Important Immigration Reminders

  1. You must do your immigration enrollment confirmation form within 10 days of move-in. This is how we collect updated room/address information and any updates to majors/minors to be able to register you in SEVIS  Deadline: September 1
  2. Be sure you are in a minimum of 12 credits each semester to maintain your immigration status.
  3. You must have permission from the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) before starting any type of practicum, work, internship or on-campus work (you will get a permission letter from us and you will get a new I-20)

ONLINE CLASSES - Physical Presence and Face-to-Face Classes Required!

  1. You may not be enrolled in more than 1 MC online 3-credit course.  This means that at least 9 of 12 credits must be "in-person" classes. All online courses require approval of the Center for Global Engagement. You should be physically present on campus and receiving face-to-face instruction for the semester

Health Insurance

You are automatically enrolled in MC international student insurance.  We have updated our International Student Health Information on the Google Site we created for international students.

**If you were previously on our insurance, your insurance has been renewed for fall!  GREAT NEWS - price drop! - only $350 this fall and $500 in spring (that's $100 lower!)**

Find your ID Card in the STUDENT ZONE

Please read this section again this fall!  There are updates to services offered by the college.  For example - TimelyCare is gone, and UWILL and Cherokee Health Services are new.

Billing

You can find your Fall 2024 bill in Self-Service. You should have already received notification that it is there from the Business Office.  Note the following:
  1. The CGE doesn't have access to your bills.  You should direct any questions to businessoffice@maryvillecollege.edu (Melanie Croft)
  2. If your bill is not paid by the start of classes, you will likely be dropped from classes and administratively withdrawn from the college.  It is important to talk to the BUSINESS OFFICE as soon as you can if your payment will be delayed.  They will not guarantee deferrals because we have had students who have not paid their balance.
Method of Payment

Full payment is expected by August 20th.  (You should have paid by August 2nd - so there will be a late fee if you have not yet paid).  If you are planning to pay by any method other than credit card, you will need to make arrangements prior to your departure.

Maryville College accepts the following forms of payment:
  • Credit Card: be sure that you contact your bank to allow for the entire amount owing to be charged at one time.
  • Wire Transfer: You are responsible for all wire transfer related fees.  Be sure that your name is in the notes on the wire transfer.  Contact the Business Office for wire transfer information.
  • Money Order / Bank Check / Travelers Checks (in US dollars)
  • Check from US Bank account

For F-1 degree-seeking students, it may be possible to make monthly payments towards your tuition and fees.  For more information visit:
 http://www.maryvillecollege.edu/admissions/finaid/types-of-aid/private-sources/payment-plan/

Not included in your bill: bank transfer fees if payment is wired, books.
