Spring Break in Miami: Sun, Art, and New Experiences
Hi, I’m Essia Dziri, a Tunisian exchange student from France, currently studying at Maryville College as part of my Master’s in International Business program. Originally from Tunisia, I have always loved traveling and discovering new cultures. This semester in the U.S. has been an incredible opportunity to explore different places. During this spring break, I traveled to Miami with a Tunisian friend I met at my home university, IAE of Caen. She is also on an exchange semester, studying at Appalachian State University in North Carolina.
Miami was everything I had hoped for and more! The weather was absolutely perfect. It was warm, sunny, and such a nice change from the colder temperatures in Tennessee. We spent most of our time at the beach, enjoying the turquoise water and the lively atmosphere.
We visited Wynwood Walls, an outdoor museum filled with breathtaking street art. The colors, creativity, and powerful messages in the murals amazed me, and I loved learning about different artistic styles and their cultural significance.
Beyond the beautiful weather and incredible art, what truly stood out to me was the kindness of the people in Miami. We met friendly, welcoming locals everywhere we went, who made the experience even more special. The city had such a lively, international vibe. It was a refreshing contrast to the quieter, small-town feel of Maryville. I loved the energy of being in such a dynamic place.
This trip made me realize how much I love exploring new places, and Miami quickly became one of my favorite cities. I hope to return one day and experience even more of what it offers. If there’s one thing I want readers to take away from my experience, it’s that travel opens your mind in ways you never expect. Whether it’s through meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, or simply enjoying a change of scenery, every trip leaves a lasting impact. Miami was an unforgettable adventure, and I can’t wait for the next one!
