Weekend of Excitement!

It has been a while since I have blogged, so I am going to try to recount all the best things into this entry.  Last Wednesday night was an Erasmus (international program) Party at Negro Zumbon.  Every Wednesday night here is called Crazy Wednesday and is for all Erasmus students.  So, of course we had to go.  We had a lot of fun dancing all night!  When the club closed we walked outside to find a taxi and that was not fun for sure.  We waited around for a while trying to round up our group.  In the meantime I talked to my new friend Poncho who is an Erasmus student from Mexico.  He lied to me when we met earlier that night and told me he did not speak english, but later I discovered that he did.  He agreed to be my new spanish teacher, which I definitely need.  After looking for a taxi for a while, we then decided it was probably time to go buy phones.  However, we finally found one in the freezing cold and went back to Abedules.  The next night I went to meet my partner that the school had paired me with so that I have someone to go to if I need anything or have any questions.  His name was Xabier and we met in the Plaza del Castillo and just walked around the city a little bit.  It was then time to go thaw out in my room.  However, as soon as I got back Courtney and Amanda wanted to go to McDonalds so we got a taxi.  We preferred not to freeze to death!  On Friday Amanda and I got really bored so her, Bobby, Nick and I went to the center for coffee and then to Corte Ingles.  I got a Mochaccino at the cafe and it was probably the best drink I have had since I have been here.  Then we went shopping at Corte Ingles and I got a new coat so that I could not freeze anymore when I walked outside.  That night we made fajitas together, success!  Then we all went to Amanda's room to start getting ready to go out to Marengo.  6 girls in one room doing hair, makeup, clothes, being DJs, and talking...definitely fun!  Then we headed out to Marengo.  We had another great night of dancing and all hanging out together.  We got to dance and hang out with a lot of the other international students as well.  At the end of the night (7 in the morning) while we were waiting to get our coats, Poncho and his roommate invited us over for Mexican dinner on Sunday night.  Then we headed back to our dorm.  After going to bed at 8 in the morning, we slept all day!  Then we got up and headed to some of the American girl's apartment for dinner.  They made chicken crepes and pasta and it was delicious!!   I ended up cleaning my room at like 2 in the morning on Saturday so I slept in Sunday and we got up and headed to dinner at the Mexican's apartment.  Majority of the international students were there, so that was fun to be able to hang out with everyone.  Dinner was delicious!  They made lots of authentic mexican food, mostly from scratch..great!  We ended up staying there until about 2 in the morning after talking, listening to music, dancing, and planning our next dinner.  Andrea and I did not want to have to wait on and pay for a taxi, so made Poncho give us very detailed directions and we walked to Abedules.  It was super easy to find, and a very short walk.  I ended up not going to bed until almost 5 in the morning, so I slept in on Monday.  I got up and decided I should probably do laundry and wash my dishes, so I ended up having a productive day after all.  Andrea, Bobby and I walked to la Morea for groceries and to mail postcards :).....and our day is just about over....
