It all started in Roma literally and metaphorically. I spent 5 days in Roma, my experience was phenomenal. My housing was in a house with a lovely couple. They helped me find my way around and should me easier ways to get around and avoid the masses. My first day out and about I went to the Fontana di Trevi and the Spanish steps then the the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. Which all were amazing even though the Trevi is under renovation so the water is drained. Tip 1: about all these sights avoid the people selling stuff or dressed up they are just after tourists' money. Oh and pack walking shoes and comfy clothes. The second day of activities I went to Il Colosseo, Palatino, and The Roman Forum. All together it was a busy and long day. Tip 2: preorder your tickets it let's you skip the lines. After I wore myself out living like a Roman I went and found an amazing restaurant. La Base, no its not baseball themed. I did find out that there is one village in Italy that does play baseball because it is where the Americans landed during WWII. The third day I went to the Pantheon which my name will be forever in Italy (I signed the book), back to the Trevi with a girl I met at the Pantheon. After which I went to a couple piazzas, and to a flea market. Tip 3: prepare for walking and learning the transportation in the city. Sunday Pasquale service ant the Vatican. It was a wet experience since it was pouring, but way worth the freezing cold rain. Tip 4: pack rain gear no matter where your going. It was a tremendous honor to be there for the Easter service. Next stop Firenze (Florence) which is amazing in it's on right. Toscana is what I would relate to similar to home. You have mountains in the background, cities and then rolling countryside and farms. In one day I went through Florence and saw all the sights. Which some of them were worth the large climb to them *cough cough Piazza Michaelangelo*. The beauty of the Duomo is spectacular and completely different from the Milano Duomo. Now as my last day in Toscana is coming close to its end I am on the train ride back from Pisa. Which to most people is home to just Torre Pendente *check spelling* (The Leaning Tower of Pisa) and the rest on the Square of Miracles members. I spent my day wondering to probably 10 or 12 other sights that are as important and beautiful as Torre Pendete. I was even given advice from a local of which sights I must visit before leaving. I ate lunch at this small panini/cafe place. It was amazing and cheap (the college students dream). It's amazing how much I loved visiting Pisa. It's been my dream to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Well my dream came true today. Now it's off to Venice. The train to Venice is the best one yet. It's a high speed train clocking 280mk/h. It is amazing. It's like traveling in a comfy highspeed recliner. I can't wait to see what Venice holds for me. I think I will have to hit the beach for a day or at least a few hours or 6. I'm excited that my trip had turned out as well as it has. It's the dream spring break. I don't know how my senior spring break will match this one. So excited & I may need to backup my pictures soon. My cloud is full and my sd memory card is probably almost full as well. Things to do when I'm back in Milano already. Still have 4 days to go bring in Venice and Verona. MC takes Italy! Also shout out to the Alma mater Rockwood High who would a thought a small town kid would be studying abroad in Italy! Thanks again to all my friends and family who made it possible to get here. The words of Florida Georgia Line's, "People Back Home" says a lot for me, "for the peope im still cool with...for the people that I went to school with....this one's for my family and the way that I was raised..... I hope you know that I miss ya and a part of me still with ya.... this is for my people back home... I just wanna make you proud...this is for the ones who believed in me...." in other words I don't have friends I just have a big family. Don't worry I'm bring souvenirs for all of y'all! If you want something specific you need to tell me. Love and miss y'all!! Sorry these blogs haven't been up to participate as my usual I'm blogging from my smart/sometimes dumb phone, instead of packing & carry my laptop around Italy. I promise a blog after I get back to Milan with tons of pictures.
Ciao amici!
