A Short recap of the beginning of my Easter Break and then
on to the juicy new stuff in my life.
Roma:
I love Roma! Everything is so amazing and accessible in
Roma. Literally there is something to see around every corner. The beauty of the history of an ancient city
has come to life and will not be silenced.
I loved everything, from the under renovation Trevi Fountain to the
beautiful Coliseum. Then my very rainy
experience at the Vatican for my first Catholic service for Pasquale. Rainy or sunny it was amazing.
Florence I adore you! Literally it’s all about walking and
buses in Florence. The Duomo is stunning
and is completely different from the Milano Duomo. Plus the Ponte Vecchio as wonder to behold. My
favorite part was Piazza Michelangelo. The view of Florence in its entirety is
something everyone show see once.
Pisa:
You just got to lean with it. Not only known for The Square of Miracles or
just The Leaning Tower of Pisa, it has many other sights consisting of tons of
churches. But everyone goes for one
reason and it is the famous torre (tower).
I got to behold this masterpiece up close and marvelous. I have many pictures trust me. It has always
been my dream to visit The Leaning Tower of Pisa and I managed to make that
dream a reality. I admire Pisa!
Now for the Juicy new stuff:
Venezia:
This is the perfect place for me! I love the water and water
is everywhere in Venice. So many
beautiful bridges that I lost count. I
ventured into the student square on my first day in town and wondered around
and grabbed some gelato like always.
After walking around a bit, I headed back to where I was staying which
was on the mainland of Venice area. I
had a wonderful night talking with another guest at the place I was staying.
Early the next morning I was off to explore Venice. I wondered through the streets, allies, over
and around bridges. I finally made it to
Piazza San Marco. Which holds the Duomo, Dogana Castle, Museums, etc. It also is right next to the Grand Canal,
which it is amazing just to sit and watch all the Water-Taxis going to and from
the other islands. Which there are a few
islands which are a part of Venice. Murano which is know from Glass blowing and
making. Another is known for lace. It is
over all an amazing experience. I loved walking around the water. I also got to ride in a gondola which the
process up to the gondola was terrible. Though once we started our ride it was
so wonderful and peaceful. It is
something to see the sights from the water instead of on level ground with
them. Venezia I love ya!
Verona:
Romeo, oh, Romeo where art thou? Yes Verona home of Romeo and Juliet was
beautiful. Amongst the chaos that was Juliet’s house are two castles, an amphitheater,
Duomo, many churches, Old Safety tunnels for soldiers, old markets and streets.
It is a lovely place to visit. I saw most of the sights in one day so it is not
very big. I even road a road train to
see some of the sights I wouldn’t have naturally seen on my own. It was a
different thing that in Verona they have take-away food stands everywhere it
seems. On my way to the center I stopped for a drink and a snack at this café type
place and they had a hunk of meat on a rotisserie right there waiting for
someone to order some. I ordered a small French fry and they made them fresh
for me and I’m pretty sure they gave me a large order. But they put it with my ketchup in an aluminum
carry-tray and I was off to explore with my snack. Verona is all about walking
and some buses, but mostly walking. I’m pretty sure I passed out after my day
of walking into a restful sleep. When I woke
up this morning it was up to get breakfast and to the train station to get back
to Milano. Which I missed so much after a while. I just wanted a decent shower
and my own bed that I am use to by now. That is a much less crazy ending to my Easter
break than expected. Now it is time to
get my head back into the books and learn something.
I hope everyone is doing well and I hope to see you all
soon! I miss y’all!
Vi amo Tutti!
Ciao amici!
Buonasera!
