Life with a side of Argentina, Please.

I just realized, i suck at blogging. I could write for hours my daily life, but that would be more like a diary and less blog[ish] Unlike the rest of the group who is studying in Europe and constantly on the travel intra EU, life here in Argentina is different. The country is huge and has many amazing places to be explored, but they take time. and by time i mean like 10+ on a bus, because that's how we roll in S.America. Speaking of traveling, May 22-26, I am going to explore the North- Salta and Jujuy! Super excited, next trips to follow are BA, Uruguay, Patagonia and Chile weeee!

Plaza Intendencia which is right in front of out house. A lot of people bring their
dogs here, drink mate, or play soccer on that court.

Anyways, back to life here in Cordoba. My life here has been created through a series of meeting friends through friends, and over 2 months these friends have turned to family. There isn't much to do in Cordoba and we hit all the high points the first couple weeks here. I have learned that in order to enjoy life to the fullest while here, i have to create my own fun. Whether that means, just getting coffee and snacks and walking to the park to eat them, or exploring the artsy side of town, where there is a street fair every weekend that we regularly attend, and just wandering 2 streets over. Life will pass you by if you let it, and you cant wait for things to happen. Some days I find my self sitting in bed all day watching Netflix (Modern Family to be exact), and than come dinner time (10pm) I'm like, "Monica, you need to leave the house....."

The weather is changing here, and its fall now. Two nights ago it was in the 40's and it was def not the same 40s as Maryville. its surprisingly chilly here, and its probably due to our proximity to the mountains. Not looking forward to playing soccer in the cold, but that is just the Florida girl coming out in me. My soccer team has become like a family to me. We spend alot of time together on the field, and being around 12 Argentine girls at the same time, is the best thing that has ever happened to me. How blessed am i that i get to travel to another country and be culturally immersed in soccer with these girls, such a big part of my life, and a big part of Argentine soccer. I did leave my shin guards at home.. and my shins are paying for it, but the memories i am making are worth the bruises.

This is my team! We played in a tournament for charity last Friday,
4 games and we won it all.
I wasn't winning the next day when i couldn't move.

Living in a house with 3 Argentine women and 3 exchange students, can be hectic, but amazing at the same time. this past weekend we had an asado at our house (a traditional Argentine BBQ) and it was awesome! such a good time, and creating memories to last a life time!

That's all i have for now, but once i go on my trip to the North, ill have plenty more pictures and stories to share! I hope everyone back home is enjoying the wonderful spring weather, and this year in place of allergies, i have cold from the ever indecisive weather of Cordoba.
