Great Finds in Pamplona

Today has been another very successful day!  We got up and headed to class as normal.  There were several time during class that we were learning new words and things that are very popular here in Navarra, and when the teacher would look up the word we didn't know and tell us what it was in english there were several times that we still had no idea what it was.  She thought it was quite hilarious.  After class we could not really do a whole lot because nothing is open here between two and five because that is "siesta".  So we figured that if we found some bigger stores like a wal-mart back home that that it would be open.  So, we asked a guy at the school for directions to this type of store and he sent us to a place called "la meora".  When we got there is was a huge mall and the "walmart" type store was inside the mall.  Outside the store there was even a McDonalds.  On the outside we saw what we thought was a drive-thru and indeed it was except it was called a "mcauto".  However, in the mall we proceeded to walk around in all the stores including pet stores, Saphora! (Made Courtney's day!!), many other cool clothing stores, and also the Spanish version of Walmart.  After managing to make our way around the entire mall we decided to head upstairs for a bite of lunch.  When we sat down we soon discoverd not only were they open for lunch but they also had weeefeee (wifi).  Then we decided it was probably time to head to find our book for class.  We took a bus, got direction in a coffee shop, and ended up in the middle of downtown after a long walk.  We very soon discovered that we were standing the the Plaza del Castillo, one of the most famous places in Pamplona.  As we continued walking we found a bookstore, got at least one book for class, and then headed on for more adventure.  We walked for a looooong time and ended up at a very beautiful overlook of the city with lots of beautiful buildings.  Needless to say we took lots of pictures!  As it began to get dark we decided it was probably a good idea to start heading back to find a bus stop and go on home to Merche's.  When we got home Merche instantly began making us dinner, a Spanish version of shrimp scampi.  It was very good; very nice to just sit down and relax while talking with friends.  Exhausted now and just about time for bed....need to get some good rest!  I'm sure tomorrow will be another long adventurous day as well.
