Another day at class, but much more fun this time! After our normal spanish class we went to the market during the culture part of class. We each had a piece of paper with several items listed on it. We had to go all over the market to ask people and see how much each item on our list cost. It was not only great practice to talk to people in spanish, but it was also very interesting to see what the markets are like here. They are nothing like a grocery store that is for sure! We saw whole baby pigs, quail, giant squit, tons of whole fish, and much much more! After we finished at the market our teacher took us for a very long walk over much of the city. We got to see the most popular areas, where the running of the bulls is, and many beautiful sights throughout the city. After she left us we decided to go grab a bite to eat. We found a little place called "Rodeo" that had hamburgers so we thought that was a good choice considering most other places were closed due to siesta being from 2 to 5 every day. When we walked in the restaurant there were license plates all over the walls and many more country looking items. The more we got to noticing we heard that they were playing country music: Gretchen Wilson, Alabama, and many more. This was kind of cool in Spain; now we know where to go if we need somewhere more american. After we left lunch we decided to head back home to rest. When we got back we sat down and got on our computers and barely moved for several hours. I worked on my smash book that the Coopers got me for Christmas and just took it easy. It was very nice to be able to relax for a bit. Later in the evening Merche fixed dinner for all of us. We had "tortilla española" with tomatoes and bread as usual. It was very good! After that it was time to pack up all our stuff because we are leaving in the morning and moving to Los Abedules (the residence hall on campus). We also wanted to take some pictures with Merche before we left, so we all got together and put the cameras on self-timers after a little work and took pictures. After the first picture Merche said "ahh tus tatas"....in other words our boobs were in her face considering she was sitting in a chair between us and we were sitting on the arms of the chair....go figure. haha. Needless to say we laughed histerically as she proceeded to make comments and funny expressions about the moment. Anyways, after getting packed I was able to talk to my granny on skype as well as my cousin Mary-Sue :) It was great seeing family, but also very hard at the same time. Anyways, its time to get some rest for me; early morning tomorrow!
