Pamplona Happenings

Since being back from Ireland time I going by quick.   Amanda and I decided to do something every single day so that we stay busy and time goes by even faster.  On Tuesday we set out to go get our ears pierced!  We found a pharmacy in Plaza del Castillo and I got both of mine pierced again right above the other piercing.  However, Amanda wanted a slightly more difficult ear piercing so we went to a little piercing shop on Estafeta.  It looks really cool but she definitely was in pain for that one.
Since the sun as finally decided to visit Pamplona I sat out in the sun one day and then we both went out the next, only managing to gain horrible tan lines!  Therefore the next day it was time to get out our bikinis and go lay out to fix the tan lines, its a working progress.  After getting pretty burnt we decided staying in for a bit was probably our best option.  Thursday my laptop decided to die and refuse to do anything but show me a blue screen so I had to find somewhere to take it.  After much worry and somewhat depressing moments of not having any type of entertainment they finally emailed me back late on Thursday night telling me that they could fix it but would have to erase erase everything on it and it was going to be much cheaper than I had anticipated thank goodness!  That next day after class I was able to go pick it up.  Thankfully I had Amanda again to help me get the internet set back up on it after a good hour of trial and error.  Speaking of the inefficiency I seem to find here in Spain so many times.  The night before I left for Ireland I had my bus ticket printed and realized that my name and details were not printed on it.  We went downstairs to get the lady to reprint it and spent a good 45 minutes waiting on her to get off the phone and she never did.  So we walked over to the printing office on campus and they do not have internet in there so they couldn't open the link to my ticket.  We then went to the library and they had internet but no printers, so that was no help either.  After a good 2 hours we finally found a place that could print it and all was well.  I was extremely frustrated to say the least.  Another random and exciting event here: Amanda and I decided to do a homemade hair treatment a couple weeks ago.  We found a recipe online and mixed bananas, olive oil, eggs, milk, and honey all together.  Then put the pot in my bathtub and bent our heads over and covered our hair in this quite nasty mixture.  We covered our heads in towels and sat there slightly disgusted for about 30 minutes waiting on the treatment to be done.  Then it was shower time! Had some super silky hair the next day that's for sure.  Hmm..what else?  We still continue cooking.  We have made homemade spaghetti and meatballs, paella, more chicken and patatas bravas (Amanda and Katie style), a cheesy pasta frittata, homemade apple pie in a skillet....   Also, while grocery shopping yesterday we were picking out a bag of lemons and Amanda said "that one's frozen" as she reached to touch it.  As soon as she did we both looked up and died of laughter when we said "no that's MOLD".  It definitely took a long time to regain composure on that one!  Last night we went downstairs to hang out with some students who live here to celebrate Kaci's birthday and then we headed out to Ozone for the night.
Getting ready was just about miserable since there is no air conditioning here, and it is finally getting up to about 85 and 90 degrees we are just about to bake in our rooms.  All we have to do is sit here and we sweat.  So needless to say cooking and getting ready with blow dryers and straighteners was miserable.  However, we survived and its cooled down a bit today...if only it will stay like this.   And now...41 days and its back to Tennessee!
