It's strange finally being back home. In the beginning, it felt like I would never be flying back, but now that I'm finally here, it feels like the two month study abroad was a dream. It's like everything has reset.
I know I've been away. I can see the differences around me. The trees have grown, my dog hasn't had a haircut, my sister's hair color has changed yet again, but being back where it all started, it's like I never left in the first place. I honestly don't think it has set in yet that I'm finally home, that I'm finally back with my loved ones after talking to them solely through a phone screen for the better part of two months. It doesn't seem real yet to go back to my normal life. I need to go back to work, get ready for the fall semester as well as prepare for a multitude of other things.
It doesn't seem real yet.
I think it's going to take some time to adjust to being back.
