I'm writing this in Charles de Gaulle as I wait to get on the flight that will take me back home. This week has been a whirlwind of goodbyes and I don't think I was quite ready for most of them. the first happened to be my internship. Throughout this week, many of my coworkers came up to me and expressed how weird it would be without me around. And on my final day, I was surprised by them taking me out to eat and giving me one of their official tote bags, a card, and a book that I had mentioned to one of them at the beginning of my internship there. As the end of the day rolled around and I packed up my bag to leave the library for the last time, two of my coworkers gave me hugs and told me to come back and visit them. Even after that, I was hesitant to go and ended up staying to talk a little more before heading out. I was really lucky to have been placed in such a wonderful internship with a really amazing group of people for two months.
My next round of goodbyes went to Paris itself. Yesterday morning, I was lucky enough to get tickets to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower and I thought that there was no better way to end my trip here than to finish where I started.
If you look closely enough here, you can spot the place where I worked. |

My last round of goodbyes started Friday night, but ended Saturday afternoon as I said goodbye to a few people that I became close to on this trip. One of these people was a roommate of mine and as we looked over our empty apartment and waited for another friend to come, we reflected on our summer and wished that it wasn't over quite yet.
Overall, this trip was amazing and it opened me up to so many new things. I'm really thankful for the opportunity to have met so many amazing people during my time here. I hope to come back some day and visit more of the places that I never got to.
