Another week continues to absolutely y by in Madrid. This whole trip seems to be going by way too fast. Last week I started my classes for Summer B. My professors are fantastic and so enthusiastic about teaching the Spanish language. Last week was interesting to say the least.
Thursday morning I woke up in Madrid... I went to sleep in Dublin. After checking google flight prices in the morning I found a cheap flight to Dublin and a free place to stay while there. As any true traveler would do I purchased the tickets at noon and was on a plane at 4. Unfortunately, I had to spend the night in an airport in Lisbon but sometimes you just have to go for it. After visiting Dublin I learned many things. The first being that I need to take a seperatd trip to explore Ireland because it is breathtaking. However, I also was shocked by Dublin itself. The city was awesome but what was not awesome were the absurd prices. €6 for a pint of Guinness?!? I can get a pint in Madrid for €3.50! Not speaking from experience here of course but rather my thorough research being an accounting major. I mean, they make the Guinness down the street and still charge that much. This was the case with all things in Dublin as I came to find out. This is a good thing for the economy as it is booming. I still loved my trip and learned a lot about modern issues relating to Brexit, Irish politics, and division between Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland. It’s very similar to Democrats and Republicans in the states but it’s just odd that religion still divides people to this day.
