Week 6 - Exploring Paris!

It has cooled down just a little from the previous week, but it's still definitely hot everywhere. However with only two weeks left in the program, I take every chance I get to go out and see this beautiful city that I have come to love. Since I work most of the week and then attend the seminar for my internship, I only really have the weekends to really explore the city as I would like to. This weekend I decided to do a few touristy things as there are still a few things that I've always wanted to do but haven't made it to yet. On Saturday, I walked through the Tuileries Garden for a little bit while on my way to Musée de l'Orangerie. As much as I loved Musée d'Orsay and the Louvre, I think I liked this one a little more because of the Monet paintings that took up a whole room. It was really cool to walk around and see different sections of the painting. Here are a few pictures from the Tuileries and the museum (also featured is Place de la Concorde in the background of one of the pictures)!

Later on that evening, I went to Montparnasse Tower which has one of the best views of the city. Anyone that knows me knows that I love a good view, especially of a big city like Paris. This tower has a 360 panoramic view of all the best sites in Paris. I went around sunset so that I could see the view from both day and night.

Today, I ended up going to the Arc de Triomphe and walking down the Champs Elysées where I ran into some kind of festival, however I didn't get many pictures of it. As far as my week in my internship, everything seems to be slowing down. They have given me a huge task and that is what I'm working on practically every day to ensure that it is done by the time that I leave. Alongside that I am working the events at night after the library closes, however, those are soon coming to an end as summer hours take over and everyone prepares to leave for vacation. Overall, I'm learning a lot about the potential things that I may be doing in a future career all the while being in a really beautiful city!
