My First Adventure

This past week has been full of many adventures, big and small!
Saturday we went to Köln, which was so beautiful!  First we visited the famous cathedral: Kölner Dom and took a guided tour.  A few interesting facts that have stayed with me:

Pieces of crucifix
  • It was not fully destroyed during the war because it was used as a reference point for bombers
  • It is one of the few cathedrals with a clock in it
  • The three wisemen are buried here
  • There is A LOT of gold and important relics
  • One of the oldest crucifixes is hanging there

  • There are pieces of the original crucifix stored in there

After the cathedral we got to chose between three other museum options: Olympic Museum, Arts Museum, and Chocolate Museum.  I definitely went to the Chocolate Museum!  It was interesting, but a lot of reading.  The best part was going back over and over to get free waffle crackers dipped in the chocolate fountain! Yummmmmmy!

The rest of the weekend was pretty relaxing, filled with Lord of the Rings and chocolate!

Monday night was probably one of the most exciting nights out I have had so far.
We (the exchange students) went to the pub in my dorm building and had a lot of fun (maybe too much fun?) haha.  We were just hanging out talking and dancing when out of no-where a Turkish man came up to me and in perfect english said, "you have beautiful tits, they are very cute."  It was so shocking so I had no response.  Later, however, a couple of my girlfriends in the group found out and approached him about how indecent that was of him...which then led to a slight argument outside the pub.  While one friend was yelling "dirty Arab" the other was defending me, I was confused, then we were told if we didn't leave the police were going to come... A lot happened all at once!
Definitely a cultural experience!  Making Memories :)
