Traveling to and from Perú!

Hey y’all!
Talk about traveling. Getting to Perú was definitely a journey and especially for me. I had only flown on a plane once before this trip and well I’m definitely experienced now! So all together it took almost 24 hours from Maryville College to Perú.  We had to travel by bus or car to Nashville then 3 planes then another bus. I got to experience true globalization through this traveling experience. Many people were just not prepared to fly. By this, most people were running and shoving people out of their way to make it to their plane on time. The first and last plane ride were probably my most anxiety inducing rides. This simply being because I was so scared to be doing this with people I barely knew and because I was just ready to be home. On our third plane ride from Lima, Perú to Cuzco, Peru I sat next to an older woman who fell asleep immediately. Well, I was looking from the middle seat to the window freaking out and we hit turbulence and she elbowed me in the jaw. It was definitely a wake up.
Traveling in Perú is definitely a lot different than traveling in the States. There are no rules, basically. Simply you get in a bus or mototaxi and pray you make it safely. The drivers are really talented though. Since, you can pass whenever, go however fast you want to go, and never stop just honk a horn; I was very surprised that there was never a true wreck!
Traveling in Perú was a very large piece of my journey the first week!!
