Bonjour!
Last weekend I got the chance to go to London and meet some friends who are also studying abroad there. On Friday, I took time to explore a few places on my own as I waited for them to get done with their tour. I went down to Hyde Park, walked around for a little while. Here are a few pictures of what I got to see while I was there.
After being in the park for a long period of time, I found my way out of the park and decided to just walk around and find something new. Nearby the park, I found a line of shops and went into them to look around and then I ended up finding myself in a residential area in Kensington on accident. By this time, I was looking to get back into an area with a few more people and I noticed my battery draining on my phone, though I had charged it fully earlier that day. However, while I was wondering the streets of Kensington trying to get back to a Tube station to take me closer to central London, I stumbled upon one of the famous blue plaques throughout the city. Here is a picture of the T.S. Eliot one that I found. I found out later that if I had kept walking a little more through Kensington, I might have found my favorite author's plaque.
I also got to see Big Ben, though it was still under construction so I only got to see the clock.

After finding my way back to the busier streets, I find a Tube station and make my way back to central London so it was easier to get around when we met up for dinner. I found myself then around the London Eye and I sat and watched as tourists took pictures until I got a message telling me where to meet for dinner. At this point, my phone battery was dangerously low, but I definitely had enough to get to the place and back to the place I was staying. However, during dinner while I wasn't on it, the phone drained more. So I wrote down my directions in order to get back to the place I was staying before it reached a solid 1%. It was definitely an eventful night in the city without many directions, but I made it back to my hostel safely.
Saturday, we decided to go to the National Galleries and saw a lot of really cool art. Here are a few pictures from that day. Luckily I didn't get lost that day.
I also got to see Big Ben, though it was still under construction so I only got to see the clock.
On Sunday, I found myself in Bloomsbury before I took the train back to Paris where I wandered through Tavistock Square and saw a statue of my favorite author which was pretty cool.
Overall, my trip to London was amazing! I definitely wanted more time to explore this beautiful city. However, my week in Paris was also amazing as I got to see a private exhibition at Musée d'Orsay with my internship and I met a few cool authors.
